Positive: Generally everything was OK. I was at a conference nearby so didn't spend that much time in the hotel
Negative: Lack of catering in the afternoon and evening was a disappointment. Didn't realise the adjacent coffee shop closed at 2.00pm until I got there. There were times when the room was quite noisy. Seemed like an adjacent door slamming or maybe water hammer in the pipework. Wasn't aware that the rooms were not serviced on a daily basis. Didn't see that in any of the hotel literature. It was 3 days before my room was serviced. Not a huge deal but would have been nice to know. The "fireplace" didn't seem to work no matter what I did with the remote or the switch. One of the ceiling lights seemed to be blown. The switches on the bedside lights are rather inaccessible.
Summary: The Hotel met my needs for the event I was attending.

Positive: The room was HUGE! The towels were so soft, kudos to the laundry team. The building is old and the features were beautifully retained. Coffee shop right there in the same building which is handy.
Negative: There were mosaic tiles for the shower floor, some were missing. On first impressions of the reception area I was disappointed, as there was an empty restaurant/bar area which looked in disarray. The remainder of the hotel was beautiful. Bit of a walk to the harbour area, but doable. The reception staff didn't wear a uniform, which I thought was a bit strange, although this had no effect on their professionalism.
Summary: Beautiful old building, HUGE room!

Positive: Easy walking to alot of architectural buildings, resturants & cocktail bars,breweries,hotel is historic & appreciate that you have saved that,loved all the wall hangings that explain about the architects & it's history. Convenient coffee shop which don't think belongs to hotel but opens into hotel lobby.
Negative: No hotel parking of it's own but an easy straight shot 1 block down from hotel. (Did have to pay)

Positive: Great location and loved the cafe at the ground floor. Spacious rooms and staffs were very attentive. Thank you for giving a comfortable stay.
Negative: Internet was not that good in one of the rooms I was initially in. But when requested they moved me to another available room which had better internet.

Positive: The staff on reception were so lovely and helpful. They stored our bags for us and were very good with local recommendations. We were also upgraded to very lovely spacious rooms.
Negative: Lack of facilities - we had arrived early from an overnight train journey and the hotel had no breakfast on offer. We ended up eating at another hotel locally.
